If you find you have hair thinning, shedding and even loss, there could be any number of reasons for it. For most people it has to do with their diets and nutrition and there are some things you can do to obtain fast growing hair with less hair fall.

Nutrition and Diet Recommendations

If you have nutritional deficiencies it will show in your hair in the form of excessive shedding and weak hair shafts that create breakage and hair loss; this can also slow hair re-growth. Hair problems that are caused by nutrition can be remedied by changing your diet; adding nutrients such as vitamin A, some vitamin B elements, biotin and vitamin C, copper, zinc, iron, protein and water.

Vitamin A

Taking an adequate amount of vitamin A in your diet is very important for your body and health of the cells and tissues including the hair and scalp which is essential for faster hair growth. If you have prolonged vitamin A deficiency it can lead to dandruff and hair loss because of the build up of cellular debris in the hair follicles.

For adults, the recommended daily amount of vitamin A is 5,000 IU (International Units). The body absorbs vitamin A from plant sources or by converting beta carotene into Vitamin A. Good sources of Vitamin A are any red, yellow or orange fruit and vegetables. Leafy green vegetables are also good sources.

Other sources of vitamin A include:

1. Liver

2. Milk

3. Liver

4. Fortified Milk

5. Any other foods with fortified vitamin A

Vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12 all contribute to the formation of red blood cells

(hemoglobin), and red blood cells contain the important element, iron. The purpose of hemoglobin is to transport oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body including your scalp. Good blood flow to the scalp increases oxygen which in turn helps create fast growing hair. If you don't get enough oxygen and blood to the scalp, you will suffer from hair loss, hair thinning, dry hair, and slow growing hair.

The recommended daily amount of vitamin B6 is 2 milligrams. Add the following items to your diet to ensure you are getting enough vitamin B6:

1. Whole grain, nuts, cereal and legumes

2. Fish

3. Pork

4. Liver

You should get at least 400 micrograms of folic acid each day. Good sources include:

1. Leafy vegetables

2. Fortified cereal

3. Avocado

4. Beets

5. Broccoli

6. Brewer's yeast

7. Avocado

8. Wheat Germ

9. Leafy vegetables

Other sources of folic acid are products that are fortified including grain, flower, bread, rice and noodles.

Be sure to include at least 6 micrograms of B12 per day. Eat the following foods to increase your B12 intake:

1. Meat

2. Fish

3. Poultry

4. Eggs

In addition to diet, you can achieve faster hair growth by using coconut oil or Mira hair oil. Massaging the oil into your scalp will increase blood flow thereby increasing hair growth. You can put it on at night and wash out in the morning.
